Young Talent

Jessica Marie Holder
I know I talk about celebrities, designers, fashion, styling and what I do. but there are some young talented people creating and capturing works of Art at such a young age. They are our next generation of creators.
Her name is Jessica Marie Holder.
Jess is my sister in law and she is the cutest ever! She is such a talented and gifted 16 year old. Below are the images that she captured for our slide show and canvas's to be showcased on our wedding day. She captured most of the Images and a special mention to my beautiful Mother in law she helped too. She is a creator and has an eye for fashion and everything and anything beautiful. She studies Art & textiles at high school and has a camera that she just cant take out of her hands. Also I remember a maxi dress she designed and made. She wore it and I immediately asked what label is it ??? She replied I made it in textiles..I was blown away it was amazing. She has just recently taken on the roll as stage decorator/stylist at our parents church, Riverside Church in Grafton. The top images are of the stunning Jessie Babe when we had a family holiday on the Gold Coast back a few years ago. She is a natural beauty, Tall, Blonde, tanned, cute, the longest legs you would ever see and the most precious and stunning inner beauty. People often ask is she a model? Modest as Jess is she smiles and says No ! But she is my model so easy to photograph a natural behind and in front of the camera She moves effortless and captures some real, natural, raw talent.

These were some images of part of the series that Jess Photographed of Benny & I. They were taken on Sawtell beach when we had our family holiday last June. Such a special place for us all. Oh how I wish we could go back there some time to holiday.

Style file - hair style

Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2010 – The chunky side braid. As seen on the catwalk or a loose and beachy braid it is so easy to create and so quick to do. Looks best with a clear, strong hair band on the end not a big chunky black hair tie. Lots of volume and messy braid. this look can work from day to night. It takes seconds to create .I am a big fan of side braid easy to do and so effective.

Lip works trends for s/s 10

Imagine this: You're tired, you're late, and you've only got 10 seconds to transform your face from barely there to breathtaking. What to do? If the runways provided any hints, it's to reach for a
lipstick in a saturated color. Glossy, matte, with a sheen or without, a swipe of some eye-popping lippy can do wonders in elevating your look without taking up your precious time. This season, corals and nudes are extra glamorous, while girlish shades of fuchsia and purple feel sassy on nearly any skin tone. To make the whole search easier, I have grouped the top 4 trends from the catwalk.

Nude - Don't be scared of the pale shade! Paired with a made-up eye, nude lips are utterly sophisticated. to get the exact or close to exact color of lipstick apply a dab of light foundation on your lips before applying your lipstick.

Coral - is a universally flattering color, and stains your lips for that perfect post-Popsicle look.

Fuchsia -
from a deep magenta to a neon-shade of pink, fuchsia lips feel really right for spring.

Purple - This unconventional hue is still going strong! Lilacs, violets, and heliotropes are all feminine without being saccharine.

All shades are On trend for spring,
I own all 4 of them, I choose colours to wear on the days that I wake up depending on the mood or hair style and which fabulous outfit I will be wearing.

Melbourne City

Look at these amazing Images, WOW !! it is Melbourne & here are some facts. Melbourne is the art and culture capital of Australia. Melbourne is home to world-class arts and cultural heritage institutions, cutting-edge design and internationally recognised visual artists and performing arts companies. You see the arts in the streets the buildings the fashion and the people. As I walk through the streets to head to work the aroma of coffee fills the air and the hidden alley ways with food on the plate are to die for, still inspires me. Every day is different constantly changing. Every day I walk up through the old buildings I ponder & thank god for the beautiful day and send warm wishes to my family who I love & Miss.

Melbourne enjoys a well deserved reputation as a sport-loving city, which my Husband is extremely happy about. Scarcely a month passes when there is not a major sporting event being hosted in Victoria which people across the country and world will be watching. Victoria hosts seven of Australia’s 10 most popular sporting events: Australian Formula One Grand Prix; Australian 500cc Motor Cycle Grand Prix; the annual Australian Open grand slam tennis tournament; one of the world’s most famous horse races, the Melbourne Cup; the Grand Final of the Australian Rules Football Competition; the Heineken Classic Melbourne (Golf, which my hubby will be playing in soonish); and the Volvo Ocean Race ( I say sorry to My Dad, my Father In law, Brother in law & our old flat mates Camo & Brad, I don"t mean to rub it in to you sport enthusiasts).
The Melbourne Cup Carnival has played a principal role in establishing the Victorian Spring Racing Carnival as Australia's major annual Melbourne is Australia’s most cosmopolitan city. ! Although I'm rugged up and a little cold to say the least! But I love everything about melbourne, my work, next week's Melbourne s/s fashion week and a couple more weeks ahead we will be preparing for Melbourne Spring racing carnival. I feel inspired everyday and going to work in the city is a privilege to be a part of. I want to special mention and thank Angie and Darren for opening your home to me its always warm and very enjoyable to come home to.

All I need now is Benny a chai tea a warm bath & to skype my beautiful family.

What qualifications did you need?

Firstly a Passion for all things nice, a natural ability and a love of fashion. I studied at the Australian Institute of creative Design.

What do you think got you to the position?

I have always had a passion for art and anything creative. Plenty of hard work and determination to get where I am today . When I was young I would be fascinated by glossy magazines while my sisters would be content with books. I would consume myself and be continuously inspired by people in the fashion Industry.

What did you choose to show in your portfolio?

My Portfolio would showcase a mixture of images and styles that I have created and captured from various labels or portfolios. Consisting of different genres’ of Fashion & Art.

What are some advantages/disadvantages of this position/job?

There are so many positives, from meeting some inspiring and amazing people. Celebrities, Designers, beautiful models and Creative talented people. I would never want to be doing anything I did not love. There are so many talented people in this industry that have shaped and moulded me as a stylist.

Do you think there is longevity in this chosen career path given the current marketplace?

Yes I do think there is. I am married to an amazing man and when we choose to start having children I can still work from home and will always be able to come back to work. That will not be happening for a good 2 years and until then I will be styling, blogging, freelancing, coaching, training, photographing, creating capturing and being the best wife, daughter,Sister, friend and manager I can be.

Clothing the body is the fourth bodily function we have to do! We sleep, we have to eat and go to the toilet and then we have to clothe our selves. We can’t walk around naked. So we may as well do it with Style and dress to express our mood, personality and create and oose confidence through what we wear.

Where are you located? Does this help with success?

I have worked for three of the most fashion forward companies on the Gold Coast Dissh (manager) Designer Forum(Stylist/ press & media) & now Forever New for the last 3 months and now My Husband & I are relocating to Melbourne as I will be the head stylist of Forever New, I will be based in Bourke St. Melbourne is the Fashion Capital & you are inspired by the people, the buildings the atmosphere, the culture.

Do you still believe there is potential growth for your own success in this role/industry?

What do you see as future career opportunities?

I will stay with Forever New Forever!!. The national manager & all involved in the company are amazing. I have worked with many of the Australian labels but by far Forever New has stood out from the crowd. It is my Fashion first destination & should be yours too!
The company have many talented and amazing designers. The planning team have their finger on the pulse as they are always a step ahead in the Australian Fashion Industry as they travel the globe and stay eagerly tuned into the forever changing fashion whelm. There is always potential growth in Forever New and my future career opportunities would maybe one day if I had the urge to design my own label or marketing within the Forever New brand.

Always remember as Coco Chanel said Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

My talented friend who you all know I adore took these shots the one and only Samantha Keating !!! The dress I am wearing were my beautiful bridesmaid dress's. The shots were taken for a friend at the time competition for sportsgirl..xx

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

A fashion week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, which allows fashion designers, brands or "houses" to display their latest collections in runway shows and buyers to take a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, it lets the industry know what's "in" and what's "out" for the season.

Focussed not just on design talent from Victoria but the whole of Australia, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) presents a massive program complete with official catwalks, after parties, and on-calendar events. One of two Melbourne fashion weeks, the event brings the best of Spring / Summer fashion to the city.

Ruby Rose
and Melbourne model Lucy McIntosh are both the ambassador's and face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

Ruby and Lucy will play two very distinct roles during MSFW with Ruby the attaché for Melbourne’s fashion, culture and the event, and Lucy the lead fashion model opening and closing the Designer Series runway shows.

"Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is a significant fashion event and an integral part of Melbourne's culture, and this year we are lucky to have two funky and sophisticated Melbourne girls fronting the event," Cr Doyle swooned. Cr Doyle took a firm hands-on approach to reveal the "style icon" and TV presenter as the personality behind the event, while the "face" of fashion week, Lucy McIntosh, looked on at the official launch.

RubyRose, who wore a laser-cut perspex dress made by RMIT fashion designer Jack Loder, said she would DJ at many of the after-party shows during the August 30-September 5 fashion week. She said she was there to support up-and-coming Melbourne designers.

"Ruby is a Melbourne girl and she epitomises Melbourne style"

Haute Couture

Haute Couture is a French phrase for high fashion. Couture means dressmaking, sewing, or needlework and haute means elegant or high, so the two combined imply excellent artistry with the fashioning of garments. A model haute couture garment is made specifically for ones measurements and body shape. The made to measure exclusive clothes are virtually made by hand, carefully interlined, stay taped and fitted to perfection for each client. These are amazing !!!!!!!

Natasha in Camilla

Camilla Franks is one of my favourite Australian Designers. Her self titled label brings worldly charm, personality and exotic flavour to timeless fashion. “It’s a label that doesn’t discriminate,” says the designer who constantly travels the world in search of inspiration. “I design for all shapes and sizes – all personalities and walks of life
– I just want to make women look and feel beautiful whether it’s in a figure-hugging micro mini or a lavishly bejeweled cocktail dress”
Tash is wearing the proposal Camilla dress in this shoot & she looks stunning as per usual. We teamed up statement rings with chunky bangles and the perfect sunset. Pure lust.
