& may i just say what a line up to open the first day of the MBFWA 2013....Brother & sister duo CAMILLA & MARC, AURELIO COSTARELLA, BEC & BRIDGE, CHRISTOPHER ESBER, Gold coast label WHITE SANDS, ROOPA PEMMARAJU, ALEX PERRY, BY JOHNNY, GROUP SWIM, ROMANCE WAS BORN......
I'll have to be honest these 10 labels are all so different & unique but the opening sibling duo Camilla & Marc may be in my top 4 with their statement prints and the use of a palette's of white, acid blue, aqua & pale blues & stretch leather, embossed snakeskin leathers & textures of rich satins & silks....
Now for my other top 4 @ day 1 was the duo Bec Cooper & Bridget Yorston of Bec & Bridge...These 2 had a win on the catwalk with the use of Fluorescent lights tapering like fish bones illuminated of soft pinks & blues worn over slouchy pants & metallic knits with mesh panels. Then I loved the use of Plums, mint & black to combined a contemporary spin.
Alex Perry @ 4pm would have been the one show I would have made my way to...I watched this live on www.jasu.com right on 4pm on day 1 & I love the talented man that is Alex Perry regardless if he wants to take the brand in new & exciting areas however headlines are saying "Gone are the Glamour Gowns"....The man who made his name with glamour gowns & wedding dresses said "the nature of the evening dress has changed drastically & women want different things & expect clothes that work over multiple occasions" & you know what he is still my top 4 for the day... Replacing sequins, beads & corsets were silk fabrics, modern knitwear & sharp tailoring & he focused on wearable separates rather than gowns... You need to watch the show as images don't do it justice...I attached a link below...

Romance was Born was the last collection showcased @ 9pm on day 1... I still remember doing an assignment on this Artistic duo back when I was in collegue..They still live by that philosophy of fashion being the "IMAGINATION COMING TO LIFE" & this show was none other than that. Greeted by dreamy, trippy synthesised tones of Nirvana & guns & roses, it was a magic show... Frothy creations in sherbet hues of pinks & oranges, blues & greens were seen in baby doll & smock dresses, feathered pants....Luke Sales & Anna Plunkett never fail to deliver imagination bought to life..The collections always tell a story.. The style of Romance was Born is not my own style yet I always LOVED & will continue to be their biggest fans as I love seeing the Dreamy, Artistic colourful fashion they continue to deliver & the shows that they WOW me with every time....
Enjoy & Thank you Ultra book for the images.....
With love EH x
